Rest Fest grew out of something already in Richmond: a wellness community full of talented practitioners and dedicated small businesses. Islands are how the festival grows with the community.

Apply to host an Island
What's an Island?

Larger space, your programming, your community, your day.

As an Island host you decide what happens in your space: the facilitators, the sessions, the atmosphere; all of it. Island hosts can sell tickets through their own platforms.

We ask for a proposed schedule in advance, so all the Islands can see each other's programming and the day shapes up as something complementary, not repetitive or distracting.

2026 pricing; 2027 pricing will be confirmed when applications open.

Ideas for your Island

Host panel conversations or invite guest teachers to collaborate. Create a rest lounge or an interactive experience.

What's included

  • A 20x20 tent space on the wide-open Carillon Lawn
  • 50 feet between Islands
  • Hold your own workshops and classes, sell items, and curate community
  • Access to shared event amenities (restrooms, event staff support)

Good to know

  • "Island time" runs 10am–7pm; the festival runs 10am–9pm
  • Venue available from 7am; setup must be complete by 10am
  • You're not required to stay all day
  • Electricity is not provided
